Flip Cup
Overview
Flip cup is a relay: two teams lined up along a table, each person drinks (or NA), sets the cup on the edge, and flips it rim-down before the next teammate goes. First team through the line wins. Fast to teach, loud when it lands. Only where age + lot rules allow.
Why it’s a good choice
Bigger crews than pong — six to ten people can play without waiting forever. Low skill barrier; high energy. Perfect between grill flips when you want one loud round, not a forty-minute tournament. Cap the number of rounds or it becomes the whole afternoon.
Where best to play
Needs a long-enough folding table for two parallel lines and room to stand without blocking the aisle. Spills are guaranteed — mat or towel under the edge. Not a grass game. Keep the table in your stall footprint so celebrating doesn’t shove cups into the next crew’s setup.
Rules
- Even teams. Equal cups filled the same (beer, NA, or water — house call).
- On “go,” first player drinks, sets cup lip on the table edge, flips until it lands rim-down.
- Only then does the next teammate start. No early flips.
- First team to flip the last cup wins the round.
- Best-of-three or timed slate — agree before round one. Sit-outs are always allowed.
Responsible drinking: alternate water, food first, max rounds locked, rides planned. Full line on Drinking games.
