Power plan
Most lot gear fails on power, not on brand. Name what has to run, then pick the smallest source that runs it.
1. List what has to run
Phones, a fan, lights, a speaker, a screen? If you can’t name the load, you don’t have a power plan yet.
2. Battery first
- Battery packs / USB-C — phones, small fans, LED lights, Bluetooth speakers.
- 12V from the vehicle — short pulls; don’t flatten the battery you need to leave.
- Inverter — know continuous watts, not peak marketing numbers.
- Generator — last resort for a screen plus multiple loads, only where rules allow.
3. Assign a power minder
Pre-charge packs the night before. Give one person the power job, the same way you assign ice and grill.
