Omaha in June. Charles Schwab Field sits downtown on Mike Fahey Street, a short walk from the Old Market. Lots open at 8 a.m. on CWS game days, and tailgating is on in every MECA lot. Know this going in: the lots are dry. No alcohol, no glass.

Must see / do

Around the ballpark

  • It seats 24,000, and the concourse opens for standing room during the CWS. The concourse runs all the way around the field.
  • Fan Fest sets up outside Gate 3 on Mike Fahey Street. It’s free.
  • Open Practice Day is free too — usually the day before the first game, when all eight teams take the field.

On the lot

  • Lot A and the CHI Health Center Omaha garage are $15 a car during the CWS, first come, first served. Cash or card. No in-and-out.
  • Lots B and D are for permit holders during the CWS.
  • Tailgating is allowed in every MECA lot. Stay in your own space, keep the drive lanes clear, and don’t save spots.
  • No alcohol or open containers on the lots, and no glass.
  • Tents get weights, not stakes. Grills stay 3 feet from people, buildings, and anything that burns, and never alone. Charcoal dump stations are on the lots.
  • No RVs, buses, or box trucks. The lot entrances are too narrow. The NCAA lists nearby RV parks.
  • Creighton opens campus lots for CWS fans. Tailgating is OK there too, but no RVs.
  • Want a sure thing? Reserve a downtown Park Omaha garage or lot ahead of time in the ParkMobile app.

Getting in

  • Clear bag policy: one clear bag up to 12×6×12 inches or a one-gallon clear freezer bag, plus one small clutch up to 4.5×6.5 inches. No coolers or backpacks.
  • You can bring one sealed clear plastic water bottle, 20 oz or smaller (or empty).
  • Tickets are mobile only. Screenshots won’t scan.
  • The stadium is cashless. Cash-2-Card machines on the concourse turn cash into a card with no fee.

Overview

  • Address: 1200 Mike Fahey St., Omaha, NE 68102.
  • Opened in 2011 to replace Rosenblatt Stadium. It was TD Ameritrade Park Omaha until the Charles Schwab name took over in 2022.
  • Home of the NCAA Men’s College World Series, and Creighton’s home field the rest of the spring.
  • Lots open at 8 a.m. on CWS game days and close 90 minutes after the game. No overnight parking, and gear left overnight gets tossed.
  • Gates usually open 2 hours before first pitch. Fans clear out between games.
  • After games, police send exiting traffic to Cuming Street. Check 511.nebraska.gov before you roll.
  • Not driving? The free Ballpark Bus loops downtown about every 10 minutes during the CWS, or park free at Westroads and ride ORBT in. Rideshare pickup is the north curb cut at CHI Health Center Omaha.
  • Accessible parking is free with a placard or plate in Lots A, B, D, and the garage. The ADA drop-off is at 14th and Mike Fahey.

Rules on paper and the call on a game day in June aren’t always the same. The NCAA and MECA post new CWS rules every spring. Confirm yours before you head to Omaha.
