Giant Jenga
Overview
Giant Jenga is a spectacle that still doesn’t need a throwing lane. It lives with table & hands — beside the table, not on a flimsy card table if the blocks are heavy.
Why it’s a good choice
Crowd magnet. One tower entertains the whole canopy between flip-cup rounds (or instead of them). Low rules overhead. Kids celebrate the rebuild as much as the fall. Wind tips tall towers — shorten the game or move behind a canopy wall.
Where best to play
Level pad — plywood, folded mat, or firm grass. Give a collapse a safe radius — not ankles and beer cans. Keep it out of the walk lane to the grill and the gate. Not for a wobbly card table if the set is the heavy yard size.
Rules
- Build the tower on the pad. One block per turn from below the highest completed story; stack on top, alternating direction.
- Only one hand at a time (house rule — say it once).
- Tower falls → that player is out / takes a light forfeit (push-ups, next round of drinks for the table — keep it light).
- Rebuild and go again, or rotate challengers after each fall.
Gear / setup notes
Giant stacking-block set (54 blocks common) · level pad · towel for wipe-downs · bag that can take the full tower weight. Quieter table energy: cards · dice.
Pad underneath. Clear the radius. Let it fall once.
