Ohio State football tailgate at Ohio Stadium · Columbus, OH

Saturday in Columbus is Skull Session, the walk up to Ohio Stadium, the Horseshoe, and Script Ohio from the band. The stall is about 8.5 by 15 feet, so respect that before you pop a tent.

Must see / do

Around campus

  • The walk up to Ohio Stadium comes in on the north and south plazas, and Woody Hayes Drive closes to cars on gameday, and the walk-up uses that street.
  • Script Ohio with TBDBITL is the in-stadium band tradition, not a lot ritual. High Street and Lane are optional energy before kick.

Before the game

  • Skull Session is at St. John Arena, typically about 2 hours before kick, with the band and the team. Verify the weekly FYI, because about 2 hours isn’t a locked minute.
  • Season permits use checkpoints around the lot ring. The Carmack and West Campus bus goes to the Transit Hub near the Lincoln Tower fields. Gate and street-closure clocks live on the parking and traffic pages, so don’t guess one open time for every lot.

On the lot

  • The space is 8.5 by 15 feet. Propane is ok and charcoal is not. Tent and stake rules, plus portable toilets, are on the Tailgating page. RV spots in Gray and Buckeye sit near the Schottenstein Center.
  • The 2026 DOG legend PDF is live. The parking page also has Google maps. Grill, tent, and space notes are in the overview.

Overview

  • Each vehicle gets about 8.5 by 15 feet, and the lots are tight.
  • Propane is ok.
  • Charcoal is not allowed.
  • Tent and stake rules are on the Tailgating page.
  • Athletics calls portable toilets on that same page.
  • Season parking, the DOG map, ADA spots, and the West Campus shuttle live on the parking page.
  • Prefer the current parking and tailgate pages over lagging 2025 visit notes.

The written rules and what an officer calls that Saturday aren’t always the same. Confirm yours the week of the game.
