Kroger Field · Lexington, KY
Lexington is the Cat Walk, then Chevy Park and Wildcat Park, then Kroger Field. Know which gate you’re using. Gate 12 gets crowded.
Must see / do
Around campus
- Cat Walk, presented by Chevy, is 2:15 before kick. Line up outside Gate 1, along the path between Kroger Field and Joe Craft, toward Gate 12. Leave room for the team buses into Gate 1.
- Chevy Park is at Gate 4. Wildcat Park is at Gate 9. Those are the named fan parks, not a rule sheet. Chairs of Honor is a quiet stop if you pass it. Don’t turn it into a selfie rush.
- Skip the Gate 12 crush from about 1:30 before kick until about 40 minutes out, when team movement closes in on the plaza. Use another gate. The walkway between Gates 14 and 15 also closes near kick.
Before the game
- The Lextran UK Football Express covers downtown High Street, the Transit Center, and the Virginia Avenue routes, starting 3 hours before kick. It’s $1, exact change, one way, and it drops near University Drive and the Complex.
- The Kroger Tailgate Experience, if you qualify, is a VIP lawn next to BCTC from 3 hours before kick. You need a recent Kroger receipt of at least $35 a person. It’s a sponsored setup, not a DIY lot.
- Gates 4, 9, and 12, plus the suites, open 2 hours before kick. The other public gates open 1.5 hours out. Students use Gate 1.
On the lot
- Blue, Green, and Orange are the lot colors, and Cooper Drive is the season-tagged greenspace. Tailgate behind your vehicle.
- Pop-ups only, and stakes longer than 4 inches need a call first. The rest of that matrix is in the overview. Don’t guess the clocks.
Overview
- The page’s setup window starts in early August and clears after the regular season. Re-check the exact dates each summer.

- Gameday lots open at 8:00 a.m. Tailgate behind your vehicle. The color lines are Green, Blue, and Orange. One space is one vehicle.

- Generators need UK Athletics approval and stay at 60 dB or under. Open flame needs Fire Marshal authorization and a 5-lb ABC extinguisher. Don’t put charcoal in a dumpster.
- Cooper Drive visitor setups and parking start at noon Friday. Main and Gluck RV lots open at 8:00 p.m. Friday. Visitor RV lots open at 6:00 p.m. Friday, free and first come.
- No guest golf carts or scooters. No personal port-a-potties. Live bands and DJs need prior approval.
The written rules and what an officer calls that Saturday aren’t always the same. Confirm yours the week of the game.
