In Columbia the scene is the Tiger Fan Zone, Tiger Walk over in Lot C, and Faurot Field. The Rock M hill isn’t a free climb. Check the 2026 ticket rules before you assume you can walk up the north end.
Must see / do
Around campus
- The Tiger Fan Zone is the Tiger Avenue lawn across from the parking structure. It opens 3.5 hours before kick. Big screen, trucks, beer, a Kids Zone, and the student tailgate.
- Tiger Walk is 2.5 hours before kick. The buses pull into Lot C off South Providence, and fans greet the team on the walk down the hill to the locker room. Truman’s Taxi still leads the band and the team. It no longer goes onto the field after the NEZ work. The Rock M and The Hill are the north-end look. The Hill is ticketed in 2026. It isn’t free climb space.
- The Columns on Francis Quadrangle are a photo stop. The student walk and Prowl there are orientation and commencement, not the football team walk. Inside, M-I-Z and Z-O-U is the call and response. Be in your seat for it.
Before the game
- Downtown Columbia is a short stroll, not a restaurant crawl. Once the roads close, MO-X, rideshare, and the official parking pages beat phone GPS.
- Gates open 2 hours before kick.
On the lot
- Lot C is the Walk. The Fan Zone is the lawn. Priority lots are for scholarship-fund members, and RVs go to Truman’s Landing. That split is in the overview.
- Nothing out before 8:00 a.m., and the tent has to be an extension of your vehicle. Don’t guess the rest of the clocks.
Overview
- Setup no earlier than 8:00 a.m. gameday, and that can change. Clear by midnight or 3 hours after the game, whichever is later. No overnight occupancy. No space saving.
- Tents max 10×10. Sandbags or weights only. No staking. The tent has to be an extension of your vehicle, and only in a lot, or the grass beside it, that you have a pass for.
- Alcohol is 21+. Kegs and bulk alcohol are prohibited. Day-of and proximity rules sit under UM policy.
- Stay with the grill. Hot coals go in the designated bins. No ground fires or fire pits. No grills in parking garages.
- Generators need a muffler or a noise cover. No generators in garages. Marine batteries and inverters are the suggestion.
- Priority lots are for Tiger Scholarship Fund members. Green space within 50 feet of a lot is reserved for that lot’s fans.
- RVs go to Truman’s Landing. No personal port-a-potties. Music stays in your footprint. No private motorized rec vehicles.
