In Columbia the day is Gamecock Village, the Gamecock Walk down Garnet Way, the pep rally, and then 2001 and Sandstorm once you’re in your seat. Know where Gamecock Park is before you start cooking.
Must see / do
Around campus
- Gamecock Village, with Farm Bureau, opens 4.5 hours before kick. Live music, a videoboard, radio, and kids stuff. That’s the pregame hub. Gamecock Park is the named parking and tailgate complex. The maps live on the athletics parking page.
- The Cocky Magic Box and the alma mater toast are traditions, not rules. Inside, 2001 is the entrance out of the southwest tunnel, and Sandstorm is the towel wave. Be in your seat.
Before the game
- The Gamecock Walk is along Garnet Way about 2:15 before kick, from the 2026 fan-experience release. Line the path after you’ve had Village time. The pep rally with the Mighty Sound of the Southeast is at the front of Gamecock Park right after the Walk.
- Downtown Columbia is a light stroll, not a restaurant list.
On the lot
- Gamecock Park and the Rice Football Campus are the pockets. Tailgate inside the space you were assigned, and keep the drive lanes open.
- Gas grills only in University-controlled lots. Charcoal is out. Lot-open times and the tent rule are in the overview. Don’t guess them.
Overview
- Tailgate inside your assigned space. Keep the drive lanes clear for emergency vehicles.
- Tents 10×10 or smaller, inside your space. Take them down before you go in. Unattended tents can get removed. In Gamecock Park, tents only go in the designated tent zones.
- Gas grilling is allowed in University-controlled lots. Charcoal grilling is prohibited.
- No live music at an individual site. Glass containers are strongly discouraged.
- Gamecock Park gates open 6 hours before kick or at 8:00 a.m., whichever is later. Other lots open 5 hours out or at 8:00 a.m. Get the vehicle out within about 2 hours after the game or you can get locked in.
- Pets stay out of University-operated parking. No fan golf carts, mopeds, or scooters near the stadium.
- RV parking is at the Fairgrounds. Premium Gamecock Park spaces have electrical and cable hookups.
