Knoxville can start on Market Square and Gay Street, then Circle Park, Vol Village, the Vol Walk, the Vol Navy, and Run Through the T into Neyland. Close parking is mostly for donors. The school never published a public cook code, so don’t guess one.

Around campus
- Circle Park and Vol Village are the hinge before the walk. Tailgate Tennessee is the turnkey scene on Circle. Vol Village is the freer zone. The Vol Navy sits on the river beside Neyland. Walk the Neyland Greenway even if you don’t have a boat.
- Smokey, the live bluetick, leads the pageantry. Rocky Top and Run Through the T are the in-seat payoff. Be in your seat. The Pride of the Southland march toward Neyland is about 1:40 before kick on the Visit Knoxville timing. Treat that as a soft read and confirm the weekly UT schedule.
Before the game
- Start on Market Square and Gay Street. The Old City picks up more softly after the game. Then walk it: downtown, Cumberland, Circle, the Vol Walk, Neyland. Wear shoes you can stand in. KAT gameday shuttles are on the Visit Knoxville and UT guides.
- The Vol Walk leaves the Torchbearer in Circle Park, down Peyton Manning Pass, and into Neyland, about 2:15 before kick. That’s Visit Knoxville and the UT traditions pages. Get sidewalk space early.
On the lot
- Lots up against the stadium are often Tennessee Fund. Public parking leans downtown, then a KAT shuttle. There isn’t a general public RV lot on campus.
- The DIY grill, generator, and tent code is thin on the UT Sports gameday page. Don’t guess a cook rule. Donor and turnkey notes are in the overview.
Overview
- Tailgating is allowed on gameday in designated campus areas, before, during, and after the game. Overnight tailgating is not permitted.
- Stadium-adjacent lots are reserved for pass holders, Tennessee Fund and donor rank. Everyone else is often pointed downtown and to the KAT shuttles.
- The extended security perimeter opens 4 hours before kick. Coolers don’t go through it. Stadium gates are about 2.5 hours before kick.
- Tailgate Tennessee is in Circle Park. Truly’s Tailgate is outside Gate 9. Vol Village is the free fan zone.
- Campus RV spots are reserved for donors with a permit. City RV options often sell out. There isn’t a general public campus RV lot.
- Charcoal, generator, and tent rules are thinner here than at peer schools. Don’t guess. Use the UT Sports gameday page, and Tailgate Tennessee if you want a reserved setup.
- Clear bag, the SEC no re-entry rule, and cashless apply at the gates.
