LSU football tailgate at Tiger Stadium · Baton Rouge, LA

Saturday in Baton Rouge starts with the march down Victory Hill, from the Greek Amphitheatre past Mike the Tiger to the Parade Grounds, then into Tiger Stadium. Check whether your lot is first come or reserved before you set up.

Must see / do

Around campus

  • March Down Victory Hill starts 2:15 before kick. The 2026 Fan Guide is the clock to trust. Visit Baton Rouge’s hour-and-a-half is old. The team, the Golden Band from Tigerland, and the Golden Girls and cheer come out of the Greek Amphitheatre corridor toward Tiger Stadium.
  • Mike the Tiger’s habitat is the walk-by. The Parade Grounds and Memorial Tower are where the campus tailgate actually lives. Don’t climb the Campus Mounds for a photo. The barriers are there on purpose.
  • Tiger One Village at the PMAC opens 5 hours before kick, with ADA shuttles. That’s the official fan village before the hill. Inside, Callin’ Baton Rouge opens the night, and the Golden Band pregame runs about 17 minutes before kick. Be in your seat.

Before the game

  • Build the day around Victory Hill, not a downtown bar crawl. Stay on campus.
  • All gates open 2 hours before kick. Premium gates open 3 hours out.

On the lot

  • Lots often open at 7:00 a.m. Grey zones are first come.
  • Cookers have to be contained, and you can’t stake the tent. The overview has the rest. Don’t guess the clocks.

Overview

  • Interior campus opens after 4:30 p.m. Friday, once the gates do. Exterior lots after 5:00 p.m. Thursday. Gear off by noon Sunday.
  • No stakes. Weights only. No corporate logos on canopies. Don’t block a lane or a sidewalk, and don’t save a parking space.
  • Contained cooking only: grills, smokers, fryers, and Blackstones up to about drum size. At least 10 feet from buildings, attended, with an extinguisher. No open ground fires, and no Cajun microwaves that light the dirt.
  • Keep generators quiet and the exhaust off your neighbors. Too much noise and they shut you off. A motorhome gas generator should stack the exhaust above the roof.
  • Trailers need a registration or a permit. Friday overnight needs the overnight trailer decal. Music off by midnight Friday and by 2:00 a.m. after the game. No DJs or live bands.
  • Grey-zone public parking is free and first come. Reserved color zones go by priority points. Motorhomes only in the lots that list them.
  • No drones, no private port-o-lets, and don’t plug into a building outlet. Bag your trash. Facility Services rolls the cans and the bags.

The written rules and what an officer calls that Saturday aren’t always the same. Confirm yours the week of the game.
